Luis F. Valera is an attorney with Oasis Legal Group, bringing decades of experience in law, government affairs, business, and public policy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and his law degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he also held student leadership positions and served as a student representative before government organizations.

Throughout his career, Valera has held significant leadership positions across the public, academic, and business sectors. Most recently, he served as Vice President for Government Affairs at UNLV, where he was part of the university’s leadership team and participated in strategic decisions involving university-wide initiatives, budget priorities, and institutional policies.

Previously, Valera was appointed by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to serve on the Nevada Public Utilities Commission, where he participated in the regulation and oversight of public utilities at the state level. He was also a founding member of Valera Diaz & Associates and has held various leadership positions in state and community organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Latin Chamber of Commerce and President of the Nevada Tourism Alliance, as well as serving on the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.

Valera began his professional career in Washington, D.C., where he worked on Capitol Hill for a Member of Congress before returning to Nevada to complete his legal education. Today, at Oasis Legal Group, Valera draws on his extensive legal, governmental, and business experience to provide clients with a strategic and practical perspective in addressing their legal matters.
